WATER HEATER & CALIFORNIA REBATE FAQs

Normal water pressure is 50 to 70 PSI. If you have over 80 PSI, you need a pressure-regulating valve. If your pressure remains at 80 PSI or higher, you risk damaging appliances and fixtures, as the high pressure can damage their inner parts.
The most common pressure-regulating valves are made by Watts and Wilkins.
Barnett Plumbing & Water Heaters is pleased to offer all our customers no-obligation, on-site estimates. This lets our customers know the charge, what will be done, and what warranty applies before committing to a repair.
There is no deadline, but there’s only a finite amount of money set aside for this program. Once the money starts running out, the rebate amounts will be reduced and eventually eliminated entirely.
Funding is only budgeted to last the year. Whether funding will be renewed after that is unknown.
Nearly every area in California has rebates for converting to a heat pump water heater, but the Bay Area has some of the highest amounts available in the state.
No, you won’t. Currently, we’re the only contractor in California that can offer a free temporary water heater that will get you hot water immediately, thanks to a grant we were awarded by the TECH Clean California Quick Start Grant Program.
Most water heaters fail within eight to 12 years from their manufacturing date, although some fail sooner and others later.
We recommend you visually inspect your water heater once every three months. You should consider replacing it if you notice rusty water or corrosion outside the pipes.
Some plumbing companies bill customers based on an hourly rate. Unfortunately, when companies use this method, their customers don’t know how much a job costs before starting.
That’s why, whenever possible, we use fixed prices. It lets our customers know exactly what they’re getting into before starting a project.
Yes, but the rebate amount for the second water heater will be slightly less.
In most cases, the cost for the purchase and installation of a high-efficiency water heater system after rebates is within a few hundred dollars of a standard gas water heater.
